In 2010, Darrel was awarded a three-month residency, the Québec Architecture Residency at British School at Rome, Italy. It was a time to research the theme of Cities and Complexity. While the majority of the work was reading, thinking and writing, the artists and architects in residency had the opportunity to participate in an exhibition and publication.
The three works shown in the exhibit run parallel to the research carried out while in Rome concerning Cities and Complexity. These three pieces are part of an effort to document my experience in and interpretation of Rome. Both Roman Constructions and Roman Mapping are elaborated ideas from the first work, Rome: A Project About Projects, which is a catalogue of project ideas that I had while working at the BSR, but did not have time to elaborate upon. Together they become a document of potentiality.

Darrel has been working on developing a set of efficient Rhino3D Shortcut Aliases (Google Code link) for Rhinoceros 3D, version 4.0. These are based on the work of Maxwan Architects + Urbanists in Rotterdam, and their long-term development of AutoCAD shortcuts that you can download from Dysturb.Net. He has developed the Rhino3D system in parallel for ease of interchange between the two softwares.

The installation is simple, and fully explained on the Google Code page (link above). You simply import the .txt file and overwrite the defaults. A Microsoft Excel file shows the list of used commands (and unused commands for future development). Feel free to make comments and suggestions for further commands on our BLOG!
